Accepted Student Weekend
March 20-21, 2015
Congratulations on your acceptance and welcome to CougarNation! Accepted Student Weekend (ASW) will be held March 20-21. Register today!
We can't wait to host you and your family in Charleston for this incredible weekend. We assure you—you’ll be glad you came!
ASW is designed for accepted students and their families. Explore campus. Chat with students. Meet your professors and maybe even a roommate! We will host a variety of events on both days; you may choose to attend Friday or Saturday’s events—or make a weekend of it and stay for both!
Friday will be a casual day on campus with an a-la-carte schedule.
Check-in for the Weekend will be located at 65 George Street, the Office of Admissions, and will begin at 11 a.m. Throughout the day, we’ll offer student panels and campus tours. Many of our student support offices will be hosting open houses. So use Friday as your chance to explore the incredible city of Charleston. We believe that campus extends beyond George Street to the city between the Cooper and Ashley Rivers.
Be sure to head to our campus at Harbor Walk along the Cooper River for the Welcome Kick-Off Party hosted by our incredible faculty. The event will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., plenty of time for you to enjoy a great supper in downtown Charleston.
Saturday is the big day!
Check-in will be from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the TD Arena, 301 Meeting Street.
Saturday introduces you to life at the College of Charleston. Our student volunteers will guide you through campus where you’ll experience a lecture with our First Year Experience faculty members, you’ll dine in one of our residential restaurants the Liberty Street Fresh Food Company, and interact with involved students through a student organization street fair.
Be sure to attend our Academic Receptions in the afternoon for the opportunity to meet with faculty members and current students in your future major- you might even meet the Dean of your School!
All residence halls will be open Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm for you to scope out your future home.
Some students will receive invitations to exclusive events to be held Friday, March 20, so keep an eye on your mailbox in mid-February.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide overnight accommodations for students and families, so don't forget to book a hotel well in advance.
Several hotels have partnered with our Office and are considered host hotels. These area hotels are offering special rates for Accepted Student Weekend families, be sure to mention ASW during your hotel reservation.
We'll email you travel information (including parking, registration, locations, times, etc.) prior to the event.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact email@example.com.
Note: Accepted students are not required to attend. Orientation, which is required for entering students, is offered in the summer.
